Basic Medical Sciences for Nursing
The Department of Basic Medical Science was established in June 2011 to give better foundation courses of all necessary basic human sciences in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology and Pharmacology for the Bachelor of Nursing program. In addition, the department was responsible for improving the quality and relevance of basic science education for nursing students. The department is also involved in postgraduate research in related disciplines and multi-disciplinary programs in biobehavioral research.
VISION
To be a recognized and distinguished department by providing excellent teaching, training, and interdisciplinary research activities inculcate with Islamic value for the nursing student to translate their knowledge into compassionate clinical care at the highest quality.
MISSION
To guide undergraduate students to understand the fundamentals of basic medical sciences that will form a sound base for clinical practice.
- To establish novel, advanced and diverse research activities of graduate students through collaboration with the other Kulliyyahs and universities.
- To produce competent graduate nurses with highly equipped knowledge of BMS in strong Islamic, moral and ethical values.
- To provide highly motivated, innovative and competitive staff at all levels, working in an environment that is Islamic, tolerant and caring in line with the mission of the Kulliyyah and university.

Highlights of the month
October
ALHAMDULILLAH
This year we managed to organize an International Course on Laboratory Animal Science, Malaysia 2019: FELASA Category B (MICLAS) in collaboration with Laboratory Animal Ltd (Europe).
This two-week competency course was organized to cater researchers around the region of Southeast Asia focusing on handling, husbandary, ethic and humane end point of laboratory animal science. Through this little journey, our researchers were capable to practice the good laboratory animal science.
This course will be repeated and reorganized next year 2020 to cater more researchers, postgraduates, investigators locally and globally.
