INTRODUCTION
The mosque was built at the Kuantan Campus, International Islamic University Malaysia. It was officiated by the Constitutional Head of the University, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah Ibni Al-Marhum Al-Sultan Abu Bakar Ri'ayatuddin Al-Muazam Shah, the Sultan of Pahang Darul Makmur on Thursday, 11th Jamadil Akhir 1433H/2nd of May 2012 and was given the name of "MASJID SULTAN HAJI AHMAD SHAH".
Masjid Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah was launched on 3th May 2012, by the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah as Constitutional Head of the University inaugurated to be named as the Masjid Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Kuantan Pahang. It is located at behind main road “Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah” which is surrounded by the lake and IIUM Medical Centre (IIUMMC).
Its strategic location of the mosque to make easy for outsiders, staff and students of the University to attend the prayers and other functions at the ‘Masjid’.

To be centre of Tarbiyyah Ruhiyyah, promoting of Islamic intellectualism and Ummatic consciousness in the line with th IIUM's vision.
Mission
The mision of Masjid SHAH is:
- To provide excellent services for the establishment of Tarbiyyah Ruhiyyah.
- To provide relevant activities that will help achieve the vision & mission of the University-IIICE.
- To promote integrity and IIUMy family.
Objectives
In line with the IIUM Vision, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Mosque which is situated at the centre of the university aims at:-
- Inculcating actively Ukhwah Islamiah.
- Promoting the Islamic culture and values.
- Enhancing the activities that contribute to better integration among IIUM community.
- Becoming a centre for Community Service.
- Creating a knowledge culture.
- Becoming a centre for Ibadah and excellence.
Client Charter
In line with the vision and mission of the IIUM, Masjid SHAH is committed to:
- Be a centre for Tarbiyyah Ruhiyyah.
- Nourish the teaching and learning of al-Quran and al-Sunnah.
- Ensure that the five daily congregational prayers are performed on time.
- Provide efficient services and excellent facilities.
- Practice integrity in administration and financial management.
- Promote Islamic intellectualism and ummatic consciousness.
- Strengthen Islamic brotherhood and family well-being.
