Fellows and Principals have played an important role in moulding CFS students’ personality.  The roles of fellows starts from monitoring of hisbah members including taking care of their welfare and needs until supervising hisbah activities and MRC programmes. The same nature of responsibilities are also carried by principals and RDW staff.

Hence, as those who are at the frontline in providing the services to the students, all staff of Residential, Discipline and Welfare (RDW) including principals, fellows and residential staff must strive to give their full commitment in managing the residential matters and student affairs. In carrying out these duties, principals, fellows and residential staff needs to be clear and aware with their responsibilities and commitment. This is very important to ensure the smooth running of the residential management process and the success of the department.

This awareness can be achieved through management courses and activities. Realizing the matters above, the Fellow Coordination Secretariat (FCS) in collaboration with the Residential, Discipline and Welfare (RDW) organised the Mental Health Programme in order to enhance holistic knowledge, skills, approaches and dynamic personality among principals, fellows and residential staff. All the speakers for this programme are medical doctors from International Islamic University Malaysia Medical Centre (IIUMMC) and also lecturers at Kulliyyah of Medicine IIUM.

Among the objectives of this programme are to inculcate a balance personality among participants through updated technique and approach in dealing with mental health problems, to equip the participants with holistic knowledge and skills in discharging their duties, to help principals, fellows and residential staff to overcome internal and external challenges in dealing with students who face the mental health illness and to improve techniques and skills in managing students’ issues, problems and challenges.

Upon completion of this programme, all participants achieved the objectives of the programme.  This is to assure targets are reached, initiatives are well implemented and competitiveness are increased.
