The Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS) has sponsored the Students’ Kitchen Project (SKP) and served meals to the needy students on 9 April 2019. The event took place at the foyer of Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Mosque, IIUM.

The SKP program started in early 2015 when a group of IIUM students decided to help their fellow friends who had to skip meals due to financial problems (mainly due to late PTPTN funds). Since then, they managed to provide around 300 meals daily at dinner time from Monday to Thursday during the regular semesters. Today, the SKP has been ongoing for four years. To show support to this group of amazing volunteers and also to help our needy students, KENMS decided to sponsor the meals for one day and joined the team to serve the meals.

The students were served chicken rice for dinner. The Kulliyyah also sponsored a fried chicken stall to mark its participation based on the recommendation by the SKP committee. Each student was given a goodie bag which contains a bottle of mineral water, a pack of biscuit, pudding, and orange.

The chicken rice was served and distributed around 6:00 pm until 6:30 pm, while the fried chicken was served from 6:30 pm until around 8:00 pm. We estimate more than 300 students were served dinner that evening, and some of them are our own KENMS students. During the event, there were seven student volunteers who assisted us under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Isham Pawan Ahmad and Dr. Sofiah Samsuddin.

The Kulliyyah would like to thank everyone who helped to prepare the goodie bags, served the food to the students at the counter, and those who were there to entertain our students. May Allah accept our deeds and reward your kindness.
