Asiah binti Mohd Shafiee obtained her BSc (Hons) degree from UiTM, Shah Alam in Applied Chemistry, then completed her MSc degree at UTM, Skudai in Chemistry. Upon completion of her MSc, she took up a matriculation lecturer position at CFS, Petaling Jaya.
Her BSc (Hons.) research focused on synthesizing layered-double hydroxide (LDH) using different ratios. The synthesized LDH was then investigated by comparing the adsorption efficiency on different types of dyes used in the textile industry.
Her Master's study focused on detection of antibiotic, erythromycin, in chicken. The purpose of the study was to investigate the application of ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy in detecting erythromycin in chicken's serum.
