Expert Profile


Dr. Wan Ali Wan Mamat was a practising librarian at the National Library of Malaysia (1975-2006). Prior to his retirement in 2006, he was the Director General of the National Library of Malaysia (2005-2006). In 2009, he joined the Department of Library and Information Science, Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology, IIUM.
He has published many conference papers, journal articles and books. His current research is in the areas of Malay manuscripts, preservation and conservation, and mosque library. He is currently a committee member of the Historical Society of Malaysia and Head, Islamic Library Group of Librarians Association of Malaysia.
