  • IIUM Jessup team made it to the final and won second place. In comparison to UITM, the Winning team, our team comprises of junior team members who have only participated in NAMCO or LAWASIA or Cyber Law Moot. Dr. Hisham has coached the team very dedicatedly. The team comprises of

  • For Pre-Moot, IIUM has sent two teams, comprising of one junior team and one senior team. Our junior team won the best outline memorial and the senior team won the best team for Malaysia and was rank 4th in the international rounds. The winning has entitled IIUM to secure a place at the international rounds either in Vienna or Hong Kong for year 2019.
  • The Junior team members are

  • For NAMCO competition, IIUM has sent two teams as well. Both are junior teams. The teams have worked very hard preparing for this competition under the guidance of Dr. Wan Zulhafiz, Madam Suzanna Kamaruzzaman and the mootmaster. Even though the team did not win any awards, the experience is valuable to the team members. The mooters in this competition are IIUM future mooters. The mootmaster and the coaches will further guide the mooters to participate in other future competition. The team members are:
  • IIUM team A
    • Sama Saeed
    • Muaz Khawarizmi
    • Maryam Khalisa
    • Umar Danial Bin Nasarudin
    • Faathir Imran

  • The Vis Moot International Rounds was held from 23rd-29th of March 2018 in Vienna. IIUM Vis team represented Malaysia in this competition since we won the national championship last year. There were about 300 teams from all over the world registered for this competition. At the preliminary rounds IIUM team met a team from Portugal, Slovakia, Helsinki and Sao Paolo. Only two teams from our opponents made it to the knock out round namely team from Helsinki and Sao Paolo. The Competition was won by the Economic Institute from Russia that defeated Cambridge University UK. Although our participation was only at the preliminary round, the experience to submit before an international arbitrators and going against international teams many of which are national champions are indeed valuable. Due to budget constraints, perhaps next year IIUM team will participate in the East Vis Moot which is held in Hong Kong.
  • In a few months time, IIUM mooters will be participating in the LAWASIA competition. Six (6) mooters have signed up to moot in this competition. IIUM has a good standing in this competition. We were the runners up at the national rounds and we secured third placing at the International rounds in Japan. We hope to do much better this time.
  • We have also received invitation from USIM to participate in the Shariah Moot competition. I have forward the invitation to the Moot and Legal skill secretariat to advertise for candidate who would be interested to join this competition particularly to our fifth year students.
  • Below are three photographs of IIUM mooting team achievement in the moot competitions.
