9-10 February 2021. The Department of Syariah Judiciary, Malaysia (JKSM) in collaboration with the Islamic Law Department, the Family Law and Ethics Research Unit (FAME) and the Harmonisation Unit of the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), the Islamic Religious Council of the Federal Territory (MAIWP) and the Association of Malaysian Syarie Officers (PPSM) successfully organised the online International Conference on Family Law, Family Justice and the Maqasid al-Shari’ah (ICFL) on 9^th to 10^th of February 2021

The Conference received a total of 297 participants. From that number, 85 of them registered as presenters; however, 4 of them could not make it on the day of the conference. The conference papers consisted of various topics primarily on family related laws in light of maqasid al-Shari’ah as well as financial and property rights, which were presented in Malay, English and Arabic.

Out of 85 working papers, 79 working papers have been accepted for publication which necessitated the collection of four (4) volumes of book chapters. The process of editing the papers was assigned to the four (4) main editors and their respective editorial teams from Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, IIUM. In order to maintain the standard, All papers had undergone a single blind review process, which required the authors to comply with the suggestions made by the reviewers before the papers were accepted for presentation and publication.
