Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design IIUM. Her involvement in the teaching and learning process parallels her contribution to her professional practice, i.e. urban planning related work, covering the preparation of development plans (Local Plan and Structure Plan) and application for planning permission (by preparing Development Proposal Report).

During her tenure with the university, she has held many administrative and academic leadership positions, including Head of Department, Head of Research, Academic Advisor and Fellow. She was also selected as the councilor of the Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP). She is a corporate member of the MIP (455/02) and a registered town planner with the Board of Town Planners, Malaysia.
She is also actively involved with the society through professional consultancy activities, both in Malaysia and internationally. Locally, she was involved in several consultancy projects such as Local Plans for districts of Kerian, Machang, Kuala Selangor and Manjung; and Selangor Local Plan, responsible for the environmental resource sector. At the international level, she was involved in a project related to the development impact assessment for the Government of Brunei.
