Letter of Intent (LOI)

Letter of Intent (LOI)

-20th July 2018-

Dear All Academic Staff,

LETTER OF INTENT (“LOI”) FOR PROJECTS/COLLABORATIONS WITH EXTERNAL PARTIES

May this e-mail reach you in the best of Iman and health and circumstances by the grace of Allah s.w.t.

The University encourages its academic staff to engage and collaborate with external parties through consultancy and research. These collaborations will not only benefit the academic staff in terms of individual performance and advancement but also the University’s standing locally and internationally.

The collaborations with external parties may require the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) / Memorandum of Agreement (“MoA”) / Collaboration Agreement (“CA”), which could only be executed by the legal representatives of the University.

In order to facilitate academic staff in the above pursuit, an LOI could be issued prior to the signing of MoU / MoA / CA. The LOI should be signed by the Dean/Director and it would serve as a document to confirm the intent or commitment of the University to collaborate with the external party.

Please note that the LOI is not binding and it has no legal effect whatsoever. Thus, any LOI which has been executed formerly shall be followed and formalised by an execution of MoU / MoA / CA.
